The festive season is the busiest stretch of the North Coast calendar, and the homes that suit it best are usually the first to go. If December is where your family wants to be, the best time to plan it is well before it arrives.
Why December fills early
December demand is concentrated. Families return to the same homes year after year, large groups plan around a single shared week, and the homes that sleep ten or more are limited in number. By the time the first hot weekends arrive, the most sought-after dates have usually been taken, and the choice that remains is narrower than the one that existed in October.
Who should book first
Larger groups feel this most. A home that sleeps ten or twelve is a short list on any stretch of coast, and several families choosing the same week are all looking at the same few options. If you're travelling with extended family, or sharing a house between two households, enquire early.
Anyone who has a particular home in mind should do the same. Families who return each year tend to hold the same weeks, and those weeks are rarely available for long once the season is close.
If your dates are flexible
Flexibility changes what's available. Arriving mid-week rather than on a Saturday, or choosing the weeks either side of Christmas and New Year, often opens up homes that look unavailable on the headline dates. A conversation about what you need usually turns up options that a date search wouldn't.
How booking works
Send us your dates, group size and anything that matters about the house, and we'll come back within 24 hours with what's available. Dates can be held provisionally for 48 hours while payment is arranged.
A booking is confirmed once we've issued written confirmation and received a 50% deposit. For stays booked 30 or more days ahead, the balance is due 30 days before arrival. Once your deposit is in, your rate is locked, even if our standard rates change before you travel.
December and January bookings can carry different deposit and cancellation terms. We'll confirm them in writing before asking for any payment.
